Due to some fortuitous, if short notice set of circumstances, Dansound Inc. offered PNW attendees the opportunity to attend the soundcheck of an arena-sized sound system, talk with the front-of-house engineer, and attend the concert, featuring Arlo Guthrie and his family. 4 AES members and 5 non-members took up the offer.
Attendees arrived at the Showare Arena in Kent, WA in time to see final checks on the freshly rigged Meyer line array sound system. Dan Mortensen of Dansound Inc of Seattle, and the tour band engineer Bruce Clapper discussed aspects of the tour and sound system with attendees, and offered up some listening material so people could walk around and listen. One end of the hockey-centric arena and some floor space was used for this performance. Arlo Guthrie and family went through a sound check, then folks could take in dinner before enjoying the concert.
